Ten suspects detained in an investigation targeting individuals generating income through violent and insulting broadcasts on social media have been referred to the courthouse.

In simultaneous raids conducted across ten provinces centered in Istanbul, ten suspects identified as generating illicit gains through violent, threatening, and obscene broadcasts on social media platforms were detained. Following the completion of procedures at the security directorate, the suspects were referred to the courthouse.

Simultaneous Raids Across Ten Provinces

Simultaneous operations were carried out centered in Istanbul across the provinces of Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Kocaeli, Muğla, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Malatya, and Elazığ.

The suspects, whose identities were determined as a result of cyber surveillance, were apprehended at their addresses and brought to the Istanbul Public Security Branch Directorate.

High Incomes and Statements

During their interrogations at the security directorate, it was determined that the suspects, who claimed they were unaware that they were committing a crime, had monthly incomes ranging between 200,000 liras and 500,000 liras.

Within the scope of the ongoing investigation, blood samples were taken from the suspects to determine whether they used drugs.

Legal Proceedings and Referral Process

Legal proceedings were initiated against the detained individuals on charges of inciting the public to hatred and hostility, degradation, and obscenity.

The ten suspects, whose procedures at the security directorate were completed, were referred to the courthouse.
