Simultaneous Operations in 10 Provinces Against Obscene and Fighting Content on Social Media
Security forces conducted an operation targeting suspects who generated illicit income by broadcasting tension-filled and obscene streams on various social media platforms.
As a result of simultaneous operations conducted in a total of 10 different provinces, centered in Istanbul, 10 suspects determined to have generated digital income through fighting, threatening, and obscene posts on social media platforms were apprehended and taken into custody.
Virtual Patrol and Tracking Activities
Within the framework of investigations coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Public Order Branch Directorate and the Cyber Crimes Branch Directorate carried out virtual patrol activities.
Identified Platforms and Content
It was determined that the suspects used social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and X, and produced content that was contrary to the Turkish family structure, creating tension and victimization.
Simultaneous Raids in Ten Provinces
A total of 10 suspects were apprehended in simultaneous operations organized in the provinces of Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Kocaeli, Muğla, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Malatya, and Elazığ.
Health Checks and Police Procedures
Necessary tests were conducted on the detained suspects to detect the use of drugs or stimulants, and their legal procedures at the police station were completed.
Charges and Legal Process
Legal proceedings were initiated against the suspects, whose procedures at the police station were completed, under the charges of 'Inciting the public to hatred and hostility or humiliating them' and 'Obscenity'.
