The sporting director of Dutch club Feyenoord confirmed the yellow-navy team's offer for the goal-scoring player.
Feyenoord Sporting Director Teun van Rigo confirmed that Fenerbahçe made a 25 million euro offer for the transfer of Ayase Ueda and shared the details of the process.
Fenerbahçe's Offer Confirmed
Feyenoord Sporting Director Teun van Rigo made important statements regarding the transfer process of Japanese football player Ayase Ueda. The Dutch executive openly confirmed that Fenerbahçe made an official offer of 25 million euros for the player.
Player's Preferences and Premier League Target
Speaking to the newspaper Nederlandse Omroep Stichting, Teun van Rigo stated that Ueda held a private meeting with him after the World Cup. It was conveyed that the 28-year-old player wants to play in one of the top five leagues.
Reasons for the Transfer Not Taking Place
It was stated that Ayase Ueda, who became the top scorer by scoring 25 goals in the Eredivisie last season, prioritized the Premier League. It was noted that due to this preference by the footballer, he did not look favorably upon the Fenerbahçe option and therefore the transfer did not materialize.
Lille's Intervention
It was stated that after failing to reach a concrete agreement from the Premier League, French club Lille stepped in. The Feyenoord side expressed that they consider the player's request to leave and subsequent developments to be natural.
