Sports Festival Held in İzmir Within the Scope of Public Health Week
During the event held at the Atatürk Sports Complex, sports stations were set up in various branches, instilling a sense of healthy living in students.
Within the framework of the September 3-9 Public Health Week events in İzmir, a comprehensive sports festival was held at the Atatürk Sports Complex Seha Aksoy Athletics Track to instill healthy living habits in children at an early age.
Realized Through Inter-Institutional Cooperation
The event was brought to life as a result of the joint efforts of the İzmir Provincial Directorate of Health and the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports.
The main objective of the program is to bring children together with physical activities and to spread the culture of sports.
High Protocol Participation
Former Minister of Youth and Sports and İzmir Deputy Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu attended the organized event.
Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Murat Eskici and İzmir Provincial Director of Health Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Kul also took part in the event.
Stations in Various Sports Branches
Areas were established for branches such as volleyball, mini football, and arm wrestling at the Atatürk Sports Complex Seha Aksoy Athletics Track.
Additionally, children had a fun time at table tennis, athletics, mini-golf, gymnastics, foot tennis, and foosball stations.
Health Screenings and Information
Protocol members visited the health booths in the event area and received detailed information regarding the measurements taken.
Height, weight, Body Mass Index, blood pressure, and blood sugar measurements were performed for children and participants at the established booths.
Activities During the Academic Term
İzmir Provincial Director of Health Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Kul drew attention to the scope of the ongoing project during the academic term.
It was officially announced that a total of 33,149 students were reached in 130 schools during the 2025-2026 academic term.
