Striking Allegations in MHK Investigation and Response from Commentators
Giving testimony in the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office referee investigation, former assistant referee Ali Tuna claimed exam forgery and mobbing, and alleged that certain commentators interfered with match appointments.
In the file of Central Referee Board (MHK) Chairman Ferhat Gündoğdu, who was detained in the referee investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, former assistant referee Ali Tuna testified as a victim and made allegations of forgery and mobbing.
Investigation and Detention Process
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, operations carried out in four provinces centered in Istanbul led to the detention of seven suspects, including Central Referee Board Chairman Ferhat Gündoğdu. In this context, former assistant referee Ali Tuna, who brought the process to the judiciary, went to the prosecutor's office and gave a detailed statement as a victim.
Exam Objection and Irregularity Allegation
Former assistant referee Ali Tuna stated that following the acceptance of his request to return for the 2025-2026 season, he participated in the tests held at the Hasan Doğan Facilities in Riva on August 26, 2025. Defending that he was subjected to a rule interpretation exam contrary to customs and shown as unsuccessful, Tuna noted that the exam documents were not shown to him.
Mobbing and Animosity Allegations
In his testimony, Tuna claimed that former regional manager and MHK member Yunus Yıldırım made an unlawful request from him on April 14, 2022. He stated that because he rejected this request, animosity was harbored against him and systematic mobbing was applied throughout his career.
Match Appointments and Commentator Allegations
Stating that he met with Eren Acar, former employee of the TFF Referee Affairs Department, Tuna claimed that Erman Toroğlu and Ahmet Çakar called MHK Chairman Ferhat Gündoğdu to personally determine the referees to be appointed to matches. He also stated that other referees who were exposed to similar pressures could testify.

Following the allegations put forward, former referee and commentator Ahmet Çakar made a post on his social media account, mockingly denying the allegations and reacting harshly to the accusations directed at him.
