Hanoi City People's Council Environment Committee Inspects Tung Thien
A Hanoi City People's Council delegation conducted an on-site inspection and reviewed the implementation process of environmental protection policies in Tung Thien ward.
The Science, Technology and Environment Committee of the Hanoi City People's Council conducted a comprehensive inspection to monitor environmental protection and waste management activities in Tung Thien Ward.
Field Inspections by the Inspection Team
A thematic inspection on the implementation of environmental protection laws in Tung Thien Ward was carried out by the Science, Technology and Environment Committee of the Hanoi City People's Council.
Led by Committee Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Diem Hang, the delegation conducted field research at critical facilities before meeting with the ward administration.
Waste Treatment and Energy Generation Facility
Before working with the ward People's Committee, the research team visited the Xuan Son Solid Waste Treatment Area and the Seraphin Waste-to-Energy Plant.
Waste processing activities and electricity generation figures carried out at the facility were thoroughly discussed in accordance with relevant reports.
Waste Processing Data and Electricity Generation
During the specified period, the Xuan Son Solid Waste Treatment Area processed a total of 95,480 tons of waste via sanitary landfilling, averaging 241 tons per day.
Meanwhile, the Seraphin waste incineration plant received and processed 764,601 tons of waste through incineration during the same period, supplying approximately 270 million kWh of electricity to the grid.
Projects and Environmental Complaints in the Ward
While there are 13 ongoing investment and construction projects in Tung Thien Ward, there is a lack of an official designated collection point for construction waste.
It was reported that local residents occasionally complained about issues such as dust and odor emanating from the Xuan Son Solid Waste Treatment Area.
Future Plans and Evaluations
Speaking at the closing of the working session, Committee Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Diem Hang stated that all proposals and recommendations from the units were taken under consideration.
It was emphasized that contacts will be maintained with other relevant units regarding planning, waste management, environmental monitoring, and unit prices.
