Ho Chi Minh City Industry and Trade University (HUIT) welcomed thousands of new students at the beginning of the new term, announcing that it will place emphasis on technology and digitalization in its educational processes.

Start of the New Academic Year

Ho Chi Minh City Industry and Trade University held its opening ceremony for the 2026-2027 academic year on the morning of September 5 with the participation of nearly 9,490 new students.

Under the 26th cohort, 9,486 new students enrolled in the university, of whom 8,583 were full-time students and 903 were international joint program students.

High Interest and New Majors

Receiving high interest from applicants with approximately 146,000 applications in 2026, the university took new steps in line with the needs of the digital economy.

While more than 37,000 full-time undergraduate students studied across 37 different majors in the previous academic year, Artificial Intelligence and Industry Management majors were launched this term.

Technology-Focused Themes

The university administration announced that it has determined the theme of the new term as Smart Management, Technological Breakthrough, and Enhancing the Value of Students.

It was stated that the educational institution will focus on digital transformation, smart management, artificial intelligence, and technology transfer.

Scholarships Awarded to Students

During the opening ceremony, various awards were presented to 45 new students who demonstrated outstanding success in the entrance exam.

Additionally, it was announced that a total of 1.4 billion VND in scholarships was provided by various banks for students' education.
