Sixth Vietnam Earth Observation School Opens at ICISE
The 6th Vietnam Earth Observation School, focusing on satellite altimetry technology and the monitoring of inland water resources, has commenced with the collaboration of international institutions.
The 6th Vietnam Earth Observation School (VSEO-6) has been launched at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education to support the monitoring of changes in continental water resources.
Institutional Collaborations of the Event
The program, held at the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education, is organized in partnership with the Rencontres du Vietnam, ICISE, the French Embassy in Vietnam, CNES, Hydro Matters, and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
Participant Profile and Objectives
Approximately fifty professors, scientists, young researchers, and students from six different countries are participating in the event, which runs from September 7th to the 11th.
The program provides an important platform for learning advanced techniques in the field of earth observation, conducting practical applications, and exchanging mutual knowledge.
Satellite Altimetry Technology
The training program primarily focuses on satellite altimetry technology for tracking changes occurring in inland water resources.
Comprehensive information is provided to students on processing satellite altimeter data, creating time-series data, and visualization.
Research Missions and Opening
Participants are guided on the use, processing, and validation of data obtained from various research missions, including the Copernicus program and SWOT.
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Huu Ha, Deputy Director of the Gia Lai Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Denis Fourmeau, Attaché for Science and Higher Education at the French Embassy, delivered evaluation speeches.
