Vietnam and Russia Take Step Toward Strategic Technology Cooperation

At the Vietnam-Russia Science and Technology Forum held in Moscow, Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan drew attention to the cornerstone of bilateral relations. It was emphasized that the fields of science, technology, education, and training are of great importance for the strategic partnership.
Research Projects and Increased Funding
The joint research funding program between the two countries has been expanded to strategic technology areas. In 2026, four out of a total of 34 project proposals were selected for funding, achieving a threefold increase compared to the previous year.
Future Plans and Meetings
The parties plan to hold a Joint Committee on Science and Technology meeting in late November 2026. Additionally, it is aimed to send 30 to 50 young scientists as special guests to the Young Scientists Conference in early December 2026.
Atomic Energy and Nuclear Cooperation
The Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology continues its contacts with Russian partners in the field of atomic energy. The Nuclear Science and Technology Research Center project was discussed with Rosatom Company, and an agreement was reached on participation in the joint venture.
