Ukraine Launches Comprehensive Midnight Air Strike on Russia with Thousands of Drones
Large-scale drone and missile attacks launched by Ukraine against Russia overnight targeted Moscow, resulting in two fatalities and twenty injuries.
Ukrainian forces launched an overnight assault on Russia using more than 1,000 drones just as the Kremlin concluded the third and final day of its parliamentary elections. The extensive wave, which also targeted Moscow, damaged an oil refinery and residential buildings, causing casualties across the region.
Moscow Targeted
The mayor of Moscow stated that this wave of drones was the largest attack on the capital to date.
Officials reported that hundreds of drones heading toward the capital were destroyed, and an oil refinery and a residential building were damaged as a result of the attack.
Casualties and Injuries
Officials in the Moscow region announced that two people lost their lives and twenty others were injured as a result of the overnight air strikes.
It was officially announced by authorities that the deceased individuals were a 74-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman.
Statements from Zelenskyy
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in social media posts that combinations of missiles and drones were used to strike oil and logistics facilities.
The statements shared information that Ukrainian-made Flamingo and Pelican missiles were also involved in the attacks.
Russian Ministry of Defense Report
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that approximately eleven hundred Ukrainian drones were shot down across the country, over the annexed Crimean peninsula, and in the waters of the Black Sea.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that 450 drones were neutralized along the route to the capital.
