US Strike Hits Wedding Near the Strait of Hormuz
An airstrike in southern Iran's Hormozgan province has left four people dead and more than fifty injured.
The Iranian Red Crescent announced that a US missile strike targeting a wedding ceremony in the Sirik district of Hormozgan province resulted in the deaths of four people, including a child, and injured more than fifty others.
Strike Hits Wedding Ceremony
The Iranian Red Crescent announced via social media that a wedding ceremony held in a residence in the town of Kuhestak was the target of a US missile strike. The house suffered severe destruction after being struck by shrapnel, and footage captured at the scene showed heavy damage alongside debris removal efforts.
Casualty and Injury Information
Official authorities confirmed that four people, including a child, lost their lives in the attack and over fifty were injured. In his initial statement to state television, Hormozgan Deputy Governor Ahmed Nafisi had reported that two people lost their lives and numerous others were injured in the incident.
Military Tension and Clashes in the Region
Sounds of explosions were heard around the strategically important Strait of Hormuz and in several cities in the eastern part of the country. An airport in Kerman province also became the target of attacks, while Iranian media reported that military activity in the region continues.
Course of the War Between the Two Countries
During the clashes that have been ongoing since the end of February, casualties—including high-ranking officials—have occurred. Although the period of intense bombardment in the region has slowed down, intermittent attacks around the Strait of Hormuz continue to diminish the prospects for lasting peace.
