In documents submitted to judicial authorities by 83-year-old painter Prof. Dr. Ergin İnan's ex-wife F.İ., it was claimed that gallery owner Ergün Arslan took the artist to Urla, abducted him, and exploited him through his artworks. Investigations regarding the matter are being conducted by the Istanbul Anatolian Bureau of Investigation for Domestic Violence Crimes, as well as the Beykoz and Adalar Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices.

According to statements submitted to the file by lawyer Sercan Biçer, Ergin İnan was living in the family home in Beykoz Kavacık for three years before going to Urla. Allegedly, EArt Gallery owner Ergün Arslan regularly visited the family home to gain trust and then took the artist to Urla, İzmir.

Additionally, in petitions submitted by former student N.Ö., it was argued that the artist's service address was recorded in ways that did not reflect the truth.

Stating that he makes his decisions of his own free will, İnan expressed that the allegations were put forward by his ex-wife, from whom he divorced approximately 12 years ago.
